PVE VM Creation

1. Prepare

🎈(only configured for the first time)

  • 1.1 Prepare image

Download OS and driver image

  • 1.2 Add images storage

Login PVE, and switch to Folder View, then click Storage

  • 1.3 Add NFS storage to saving ISO images for all node

Click Add -> NFS

Input NFS ID -> Server -> Export -> Content -> Nodes, then click Add

Check storage

  • 1.4 Upload OS images

Expand Storage, and click ImageISO -> ISO Images, then click Upload

Click Select File to choose OS images, then click Upload

2. Create VM

  • 2.1 Login PVE website

Click Create VM

  • 2.2 VM resouce conf

Select VM resource Node, and input VM Name.

Choose OS images, and OS Type, Version

Select VM Storage resource, and assign Disk size (GiB)

If SSD is used for storage, please enable SSD emulation. if not, you can keep default

Assign CPU Sockets -> Cores -> Type

If assign 2 sockets to VM, please checked Enable NUMA
